DANCE SCHOOL DIRECTOR

Renae O'Neill

I am Renae, the Director of WA Stage School – welcome to my dance school! As a little girl, I always dreamed of becoming a professional dancer. Well, a dancer I was, however it wasn’t enough. There was something missing in my dancing career, so I made the decision to switch from dancer to teacher in 1984. I haven’t looked back since then, and from that moment onwards, I started to dream of owning my own studio.

My dream came true in 1996 when the original owners of WA Stage School offered for me to take over their studio. Back then, WA Stage School was only a Jazz school, so over the years, I started to evolve by creating my own culture and by adding extra genres to the curriculum. In turn, I started creating my own family of students and parents, and lifelong journeys and experiences for them.

In June 2017, another dream of mine was realised. Having previously leased venues to hold my classes, I made the huge step to open my very own studio in Malaga and the school has gone from strength to strength ever since. In 2021, I purchased a second studio of my own in Booragoon and can now proudly say the school has two state-of-the-art studios that provide the absolute best environment for our students to learn, grow and flourish in. I am passionate about sharing my love of dance and my goal is to run a school that is entirely inclusive, fun, free from stress and pressure and most importantly – a FAMILY.

2024 is an important year for WA Stage School, as we celebrate 50 years of our school! A massive milestone to reach, and I could not be prouder of the family we have and the life long friendships that have been created.

This school, these students and everything that comes with it is my life, my passion and what makes me who I am – and for that, I am truly and eternally grateful. I would love to welcome you to my family.
